Mrs. Chrishell D. Lewis - 2nd Grade Teacher

I have a passion for teaching which has spanned almost two decades. I have given 18 years of my life to wonderful students and families. In my educational career, I have had the privilege of teaching elementary, middle and high school students. My educational background includes Stetson University, where I earned a Master’s degree in Education. In addition, I attended Southwestern University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. Finally, I am bilingual and enjoy Spanish and enjoy singing as a hobby. Mrs. Lewis and her husband have a 6 year old son KJ who is entering first grade.

I have been a high school teacher for 23 years in Volusia County, most recently at Father Lopez and Atlantic High School. I taught English, Creative Writing, Play and Screenplay Writing, Speech, Humanities, and all aspects of Theatre Arts and history. I earned both my degrees from Stetson University. Go Hatters! My B.A. is in Speech and Theatre and I hold a Masters in Education. Mrs. Griffiths and her husband have two adult children who are both SBES Alumni.

I have a B.A. in Elementary Education and a B.A. in Spanish and have endorsements in Reading and in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). I have previously taught fifth and sixth grades at a bilingual private school in the rural town of Cóbano, Costa Rica. In my spare time I enjoy painting and reading.

Mr. Justin Holder - Art Teacher

I graduated from The University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts. I hold Florida state certifications in Education and Art (K – 12). For the past 7 years, I have been the art teacher of Orange City Elementary School. As well as an art teacher, I am a working artist who specializes in large scale paintings. As a teacher, my specialties are varied and include art history, pencil drawing, painting, pastels and charcoals. I enjoy teaching lessons that integrate art styles within their historical context. Mr. Holder and his wife have two children Emma & Henry who are in their second year at SBES.
