Just The Facts: The Serious Benefits Of A Private School Education

    4/5/2018

Just The Facts: The Serious Benefits Of A Private School Education
We know that a private education is a top choice for many parents, but we don’t expect you to take our word for it. Statistical support for the long-term benefits that a private education has for children, especially when they begin in kindergarten.
If you’re wondering whether private school is right for your family, check out these statistics as laid out by the Council for American Private Education:

    Higher SAT Scores
Students who attend private education institutions are far more likely to perform well on the SAT. According to data published by the College Board, private institutions, both religious and independent, on average performed better than public school students on every section of the SAT test. To this day, scores on the SAT and ACT factor into admission at many colleges and universities around the country.

A Higher Rate Of College Graduation
The National Center for Education Statistics did a study on students who were sophomores in high school in the year 2002. They caught up with those students again 10 years later (in 2012) to see what had become of them. Of the students from public schools, only 31.1% had graduated college, whereas 57.1% of private school students and 61.9% of Catholic school students had graduated college by that point. Having graduated college, of course, gave these particular students a huge leg up when looking for jobs and starting a happy and productive life of their own.

A Better Working Environment For Teachers
We have seen proof of this time and again within the St. Barnabas community, but it turns out it is a national trend that teachers in private schools are more likely to be happy in their jobs, feel like they have a real impact on the curriculum, and have positive feelings about the administration at their school. We know from our experience at St. Barnabas that teacher satisfaction is one of the key drivers of our success. Happy teachers help to mold happy children who are excited about learning.

For most students, a private education is the best leg up that you can provide to ensure that they get a top-notch and competitive early education. At St. Barnabas Episcopal School our students enjoy a rigorous and engaging education in the midst of a loving and faith-based community which helps to ensure that our graduates are not only prepared to be good students but also kind classmates and friends in high school and beyond.

At St. Barnabas we strongly believe that our brand of private, faith-based education is the best option for students in Volusia County. We are so proud of our students, teachers, and community members who bring such joy and earnest hard work to children’s education.
